Befriend Your Backbends

|For many yogis backbends can be intimidating, as they are in direct contrast with many of our habitual patterns. We spend most of our days seated at a computer, driving in a car, and in other activities which cause the spine to enter a rounded shape. Our bodies then adapt to these reinforced movement patterns, slowly closing off our posture, as well as our physiological and emotional states. Over time, this can lead to both intermittent and chronic pain.|
